The mission of Patriot PAWS is to train and provide service dogs at no cost to disabled American veterans and others with mobile disabilities and Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder (PTSD)in an effort to help restore their physical and emotional independence.
Patriot PAWS intends to build partnerships with local, state, and national organizations to help develop and support this goal. Back in 2008, Patriot Paws began a program with prisons for service dog training at the Texas Department of Criminal Justice. This program allows Patriot Paws to train more service dogs and allows inmates to build skills that can be used upon release. It also is a means for inmates to give back during their incarceration time. This partnership program has been extremely successful.
