Save Them All. Best Friends Animal Society’s motto is to treat all living things as we, ourselves, would wish to be treated. It strives to bring about a time when there will be no more homeless pets.
This organization began in the 80’s. It started with a group of friends that would routinely take “unadoptable”, older, or sickly animals to a sanctuary in order to avoid being euthanized and to allow sick animals to heal and rehabilitate. Since then, Best Friends has become a leader in the pet rescue industry. Nearly 30,000 people visit Best Friends every year to meet the animals. Visitors tour the various Best Friend sanctuaries that have become the nation’s largest no-kill sanctuary for companion animals. Best Friends has several programs to spay and neuter and to bring together various pet shelters with adoption agencies, fundraising events, adoption, events, and community education events.
